Admissions

Transfer Students

To qualify for admission, transfer students must have at least a 2.00 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.00 scale) on previous college work which is acceptable in transfer. (Students may appeal if they have extenuating circumstances.)

Students who are enrolled in their first semester of college are offered tentative admission on the basis of their high school records and a list of courses in which the student is currently enrolled. Official transcripts from all previous institutions and an application for admission form with the $15 application fee must be on file before a student's admission is considered complete. Students with fewer than 24 transferable hours also must have an official high school transcript on file and are required to have ACT scores on file before registering for classes. Results from the ACT must be less than five years old.

Detailed information is available in the Policy Regarding Transfer of Credits to Missouri State University-West Plains.

A course-by-course evaluation of transfer credit is sent to students after they have been admitted. Questions regarding these evaluations should be referred to the Office of Admissions.
