Finding Books

Books in the library have call numbers, which are like addresses for their location on the shelf.

Let's say you were looking for the book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey. By searching for the title in the library catalog, you would find the call number.

Missouri State University Libraries use the Library of Congress Classification System. Call numbers are made up of four or five parts. In this case, the call number would be:

BF 637 S8 C68 1990b
