The Career Services Office works to link students and alumni with prospective employers. The Career Services Office continuously communicates with employers about job openings, also hosts the Spring Career Day event, and assists with employers conducting on-campus recruiting. Additional contact with area employers occurs when the Career Services Office performs an Employer Survey. As the University continues its rapid growth and looks to expand the student internship opportunities, the Career Services Office seeks out new employers to participate in this important program.

Missouri State University-West Plains offers job listings as a free service to area employers who are seeking part-time and full-time employees.  It is provided for MSU-WP students to give them part-time employment opportunities with convenient geographical access, the exception being off-academic year position during the summer months or alumni seeking full-time employment.
