Position: Director for Project REWARD an innovative program to provide support to students at Missouri State University-West Plains who are single parents.
Skills: A bachelor's degree is required, a master's degree preferred.  Five years of experience of working with children, families, or college students is preferred.  Ability to communicate effective and interact positively with students, children and community members is required. Ability to plan, organize, and budget is required.
Work Schedule: Will discuss.

Position: Hospital volunteer.  Greeter, deliver flowers, etc. to rooms. Direct people to departments. Push wheelchairs on discharge information desk.
Skills: Phone skills. Ability to work with people with disabilities. Receptionist experience needed.
Work Schedule: 3 hours per week. Flexible schedules.  Evenings and weekends.

Position: In home or nursing facility care to terminally ill patients. Visit patient in home to give caregiver can leave for a time. In the office, file, make packets, answer phones.

Position: Assist with food pantry in Oregon County. Help sack, distribute and carry out food.
Skills: None. Some physical labor (carrying out food)
Work Schedule: 2nd Thursday of each month for 3 1/2 hours.

Position: After school program assistant in West Plains.  Assist in activities in after-school program. Must pass background check.
Skills: Will train person skilled in relating to children.
Work Schedule: 3:40 to 5:40 pm Monday through Friday.

Position: Several positions at animal shelter:  Treasurer, secretary, general laborer, accounting clerk, fund-raiser, public relations person.
Skills: Some opportunities require no specific skills or experience.  Others require physical labor and phone skills.  Still others require experience in clerical, receptionist, accounting, labor, managerial, public relations, and secretarial areas.
Work Schedule: Flexible within hours of operation:  9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Position: General volunteer at homeless shelter and outreach center. Recording donations and helping clients.
Skills: Phone skills, ability to work with children, ability to work with people with disabilities. Experience needed:  clerical and receptionist.
Work Schedule: Flexible within hours of operation:  M-F 8 am to 5 pm and weekends 8 am to 10 pm.

Position: Teachers aide, cooks aide, bus monitor to help Headstart staff with children or help cooks with meal preparation and help with keeping centers clean.
Skills: Will train individuals who like to work with children.
Work Schedule: Most centers open 8 am to 3 pm Monday - Thursday.  West Plains is open 7 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday year around.

Position: Store clerk, sorter, and floor clerk at local hospital thrift shop and/or hospital gift shop. Help customers, assist with sorting items.  In the gift shop: price items, prepare displays, stock merchandise.
Skills: Will train.
Work Schedule: Shops are open 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday and 12 noon to 5 pm Sunday. Volunteers are needed at all times the shops are open.

Position: Sales and stock merchandise at resale shop to benefit victims of domestic violence.
Skills: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.  Will train. 
Work Schedule: Shop open 9 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday and 9 am to 4 pm Saturday.  Volunteer hours are flexible within that timeframe.

Position: Website maintenance/building maintenance/cleaning at community theater. Varying volunteer needs including help for special events in box office and concessions.  Some positions are ongoing and some are one-time events.
Skills: Varies with volunteer opportunity.  Such skills as web maintenance, physical labor, work w/children.
Work Schedule: Very flexible schedule.

Position: Assisting adults prepare for the General Education Development Test (GED). Literacy and math tutoring.
Skills: Good oral and written communication skills and/or math skills, depending on area of tutoring.
Work Schedule: Center open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays
Volunteer Listing: 09-10-A
Position: Videotaping sports events.
Skills: Computer skills.  Any experience with video cameras and editing equipment a plus.  Will train right individuals.
Work Schedule: Evening during ballgames.
