Missouri State University is a multi-campus metropolitan university system serving a unique combination of urban and rural environments. The University is committed to the creation of a teaching and learning environment which maximizes the student's opportunity to become an educated person.
The University functions through a three-campus system structured to address the needs of the metropolitan area it serves. The system includes a selective admissions campus in Springfield, a two-year open admissions campus at West Plains and a research campus at Mountain Grove.
The West Plains Campus of Missouri State University has a mission to provide quality educational opportunities to south-central Missouri, which includes the seven-county region of Howell, Oregon, Texas, Douglas, Wright, Ozark and Shannon Counties. For years, the college has grown and expanded to offer associate degrees, transfer programs and training for immediate employment, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees from Missouri State University, Springfield. Enrollment averages 1,650 per semester.
The campus consists of four classroom and administrative buildings: Kellett Hall, M. O. Looney Hall, Emory L. Melton Hall and the Michael J. Lybyer Enhanced Technology Center. In addition to the classroom and administrative buildings: the campus includes the the Garnett Library; the Putnam Student Center; Grizzly House, a 60-person residence hall; and the V. H. Drago College Store. The Richards House serves as residence for the Missouri State University-West Plains Chancellor. Gohn-Wood Hall is the future home of the Missouri State University Springfield Outreach Office.

**Students must also pay a capital projects fees, computer usage fee, student activity fee, and health services fee. These fees, which total $122, are calculated into the figures above. +NURSING and RESPIRATORY THERAPY classes are $130 per credit hour.
