Miscellaneous Missouri State University Foundation Scholarships

There are a number of other scholarships that are privately endowed through the Missouri State University Foundation. Students attending Missouri State University-West Plains may apply for these awards by following the application procedures established by Missouri State University  Springfield.  When financial need is noted as a criterion for a scholarship, applicants must submit a FAFSA.

Application:

Applicants may contact the Office of Financial Aid at either the Springfield or West Plains campus to obtain the appropriate application materials and details. Examples of the additional scholarships are listed below. For a complete listing, students should consult the Financial Aid Handbook published by the Office of Financial Aid at the Springfield campus.

Ava High School Class of 1925 Scholarship:

Recipient must be an entering freshman from Ava High School.  Consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential and leadership qualities.  Contact the high school counselor for more information.

William G. and Retha S. Baker Scholarship:

Recipient must graduate in the top one-third of the class from a high school located in Ozark County and must demonstrate citizenship and financial need.  Contact the high school counselor for information.

James E. Bane Scholarship:

Recipient must be a full-time entering freshman with financial need.  Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid by March 31 for consideration.

Peggy Bane Memorial Scholarship:

Recipient must be a full-time entering freshman with financial need.  Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid by March 31 for consideration.

Bill and Virginia Ralls Darr Scholarship:

Student must be an entering freshman from Southern Reynolds County High School.  When awarded to an entering freshman, consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential, and to leadership qualities.  When awarded to a student enrolled at sophomore level, the student must have maintained an overall GPA of at least  3.0. Contact the high school counselor for information.

Mahala Denney Scholarship:

Student must be an entering freshman.  Preference given to graduates of Seymour High School.  Contact the high school counselor for information.

Ray and Susie Forsythe Cabool High School Scholarship:

Recipient must be an entering freshman from Cabool High School with a minimum 3.50 GPA. Preference is given to a business major.  Consideration will also be given to involvement in numerous extracurricular activities.  Contact the high school counselor for information.

Jean Freeman Memorial Scholarship:

Recipient must be a full-time entering freshman with at least a 2.0 high school GPA.  This scholarship is available to all qualified graduating students from the Ozarks region with preference being given to minority students.  Consideration will be given to character, citizenship, college potential and financial need.  Complete the Missouri State University - Springfield Multi-Cultural Leadership Application and return it to the Missouri State University-Springfield Minority Student Services Office by March 1.

William Duke Hiett Memorial Scholarship:

Recipient must be an entering freshman from Houston High School with financial need.  Must file the  FAFSA by March 31.  Contact the high school counselor for information.

Paul D. and Marian F. Minick Scholarship:

Student must graduate in the top 15 percent of their high school class with at least a 3.0 GPA and must have financial need.   Complete the FAFSA by March 31 for consideration. Recipient must be full time.

Morton-Wilson Memorial Scholarship:

Recipient must be a full-time entering freshman who demonstrates financial need.  Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid by March 31 for consideration.

O'Sullivan/Tandy Corporation Scholarship:

Recipient must be a dependent child or grandchild of an employee of a division or subsidiary of the Tandy Corporation. Recipient must also demonstrate an outstanding academic record and financial need.  Complete the O'Sullivan/Tandy Scholarship Application and return to the Financial Aid Office by March 31.

John Parker and Mildred Coats Parker Scholarship:

Student must be from Mountain Grove High School with at least a 3.0 GPA.  Complete the FAFSA by March 31.

Nora Spurlock Parker Scholarship:

Recipient must be a full-time entering freshman from Mountain Grove High School with a minimum 3.00 grade point average. Financial need is required.  Apply on the FAFSA by March 31.

E. R. Smith Scholarship:

Recipient must be a full-time entering freshman from Dadeville High School with financial need. Contact the high school counselor for information.

Lucy E. Smith Memorial Scholarship:Criteria:

Recipient must be a full-time entering freshman from Greenfield High School with financial need.  Contact the high school counselor for information.

White River Valley Electric Trust Scholarship:

Students must be residents of the White River Valley Electric service territory. Financial need is considered. Contact the White River Valley Electric Cooperative for information.
