Grizzly Athletics strives to provide a championship athletics program while maintaining high standards of academic achievement for student-athletes.
The Grizzly PAWS program (Promoting Academic Success With Student-Athletes) facilitates student-athlete academic success. In addition to subject-based tutoring, students participate in an evening study hall where staff supervise small groups and assist students in their daily studies. Students are also involved in weekly academic advisement sessions in a supportive learning environment at the Student Academic Advisement Center. Team grade point averages have risen significantly since the program was implemented. The program is a cooperative effort of the Student Advisement and Academic Support Center, Garnett Library and Grizzly Athletics.
