SEDALIA, Mo. – For the second time in a week, the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Basketball team came up short against State Fair Community College.

Wednesday, Feb. 18, the Grizzlies lost 71-68 in a rematch with their Region 16 counterparts in Sedalia, Mo.  On Feb. 11, the same Roadrunner team defeated the Grizzlies in West Plains.  The Grizzlies are now 12-15 overall and 1-6 in the region.

Wednesday’s game stayed close, with the Grizzlies trailing by two at halftime, 34-32.  In the second half, the Roadrunners narrowly out-scored the Grizzlies 37-36.

Leading scorer for the Grizzlies was sophomore Anthony Allison with 23 points.  He was followed by sophomore Devon Peltier with 11, freshman Rae-Vonn Banks 10, freshman Terrell Bruce 8, sophomore Youri Anissovets 6, freshman Ivan Gombovic 4, and freshmen Taylor Jones and Xavier Jones 3 each.

Leading scorer for State Fair was Dijon Smith with 17 points.

The Grizzlies will return to their home court to host Arkansas Baptist College in a 7 p.m. contest Saturday, Feb. 21, at the West Plains Civic Center arena.  Game sponsor is Ozarks Medical Center.
