WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Area residents can see the latest fall fashions and help the Garnett Library on the Missouri State University-West Plains campus during the “Once Upon a Time” Style Show and Luncheon Friday, Nov. 6, at the West Plains Country Club.
The show, presented by The Kloz Klozet and At Home Market, will benefit the Friends of the Garnett Library and feature the latest styles in dresses, slacks, accessories, shoes, fashion jewelry, travel accessories and handbags, according to Florence James and Melissa Amyx Smith, owners of The Kloz Klozet and At Home Market, respectively. In addition to fashion, the latest in holiday decor from At Home Market will be featured in the entryway and as centerpieces on the tables.
Doors will open at 11 a.m. for those who wish to arrive early to shop and socialize. The fashion show will begin at noon and will end approximately at 1 p.m. Those attending also will have the opportunity to shop and socialize following the show until 1:30 p.m., organizers said.
Admission is $25, with proceeds from this tax-deductible contribution going toward the purchase of books for the Garnett Library. Organizers also pointed out that tables of four, six and eight are available for those who would like to bring their friends or co-workers to the event.
“With the increased enrollment on the university’s campus this fall, the need for more books and services in the Garnett Library is even greater,” said Elizabeth Grisham, director of development at Missouri State-West Plains. “The fashion show is always a great event for the campus library, and is a wonderful opportunity to visit with your friends, admire pretty clothes and help the Garnett Library and the university. ‘Once Upon a Time’ is a perfect theme because fairy tales can come true when the Friends of the Garnett Library are at work!”
Those who attend will receive a gift certificate from both presenters. In addition, they also will have the opportunity to participate in a giveaway for a Vera Bradley Frill Collection backpack, purse and personal wallet valued at $166.
Seating is limited, so those planning to attend should purchase tickets in advance at The Kloz Klozet, At Home Market or the Missouri State-West Plains Office of Development located in Kellett Hall, 905 W. Main St. For more information, call 417-255-7240.
